Transmission rebuild surprise

I took my bike in for a third gear repair, but they ended up rebuilding the whole trans and clutch assembly. I got it back yesterday, and it feels a lot smoother now, though it wasn't cheap! Has anyone else dealt with any unexpected drivetrain issues?

Glad to hear your bike's running smoother after the rebuild, even if it was pricey. Ive seen a few people who went in for minor fixes but ended up needing full transmission or clutch work too. Did the shop explain what caused the extra damage, or was it just wear and tear?
